Marie-Lou Gillespie

Marie-Lou is the founder and a partner of Gillespie & Associates and holds a LLB and LLM from the University of Cape Town. Over the past thirty years, Marie-Lou has practiced in diverse areas of law from litigation, family law, insolvency law, administrative law, and deceased estate administration.

She has always been extremely passionate about law, and stays up to date with legal developments. She relishes tackling any challenge until she finds a solution. Marie-Lou also serves on the Disciplinary Committee of the Legal Practice Council for the Western Cape and is a Certified Arbitrator and Mediator.

In her spare time she serves as the Chairperson of The Third World Bunfight (a performing arts company), is an advisory committee member of the Adele Searll 100 Club (a 45-year-old philanthropic organisation with a focus on education and community charities), and enjoys spending her free time hiking in nature.
